COACH ALLEN'S WEEKEND REPORT
18th June 2006
This past week-end was
successful for 2 of the 3 teams that played against the
Oakville Crusaders. The Men's 3rd team won yet again, this
time defeating CRU by 26-24 on the last play of the
game.

The
second XV was a team made up
of young players with a few vets leading the way. They won by
a convincing 27-7. This is a sign of what is to come for
Brampton. The team showed pride and determination and played
as a team. Well done to both sides.
The Men's 1st side
had another disappointment, losing to a Cru team we should
have beaten. The 1st side came out flat and were not ready to
play against a well-organized and determined Oakville team.
For the 1st XV, coming off a well fought game against the
Aurora Barbarians last week-end, I was disappointed in our
performance on Saturday. It seems like the team went backwards
for the first time this season.

At half time, the team was
able to get re-focused and come out more strongly and more
aggressively. We now played 30 of the 40 minutes in the
Oakville end. But, even though we crossed the goal line four
times, we were still unable to touch the ball to the ground to
be rewarded with a try. The half ended with 8 points gained.

For us, there was some outstanding
play from Mike Shannon and Andre Rose Green. These guys
played for the other 13 guys. Another note is that the
Brampton offence line-out was successful 96% of the time.
This impressive statistic was led by Blair's great high
ball.

Have the players start to work
together and not have individual performances.
Head coach needs to
run stronger training sessions and explain the basics of what we
are trying to do
Training this week begins
at 6:30
and ends at 8:30 .
