A
MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF RUGBY TO THE SENIOR MEN'S TEAM
11th April 2008
BRFC Season plan 2008
The short, mid and long term focus of the BRFC in 2008, will
be to develop all facets of Rugby. Our Club is strong and we
are poised to do great things. Hard work and dedication will
be the catalyst for success moving forward. In 2008, we will
continue to make progress to ensure that Brampton RFC becomes
the best Rugby club in the country, both on and off the field.
On the
field, our focus will be to build on the key learning factors
from 2007. The BRFC Coaching Staff remains committed to the
development of players who commit to the Club. We continue to
have a very strong U21 and junior program, and this talented
pool of players will be a priority for development. We will
look to enhance the level of play of all athletes who make the
commitment to train. We will do this through strategic
direction provided by the coaching staff.
For each
Senior Men's player, this means that if he embraces this
attitude, and invests a commitment and dedication to the Club
and team, then that player will be the focus of the coaching
staff. It is an honor to play Rugby at the BRFC and an even
greater honor to play for the 1st team.
In 2008,
the 1st XV squad will be made up of committed and fit
individuals who value the Club and place the team above
themselves. It is the intent of the coaching staff to develop
a depth chart of committed players and use it as the primary
selection tool. The first key step for inclusion on this list
is the full payment of player dues.
A strategy for success will be employed by the coaching staff
to maximize our on-field efforts. This means that we will
remain vigilant of the number of games that some Club members
are playing, both at the junior and representative levels, and
we will look to manage any potential burnout. All matches are
important, but key matches for the Club will be identified and
a plan will be executed to ensure we maximize our performance
in these contests.
The stated Vision is to win a Cup within the next 3 years.
This is a reasonable and attainable goal based on the players
we have, and the maturation of players from our junior
program. The objectives of the BRFC Coaching Staff are to
provide an environment for skills development through player
consultation and feedback. We look to provide each and
everyone of you who commits to the program, the necessary
feedback and coaching to achieve your personal and team goals.

$10 per night. The last two Thursdays, we will train at the
Club – either in the parking lot or on the pitch if it is
