After a 19 - 14 victory in the friendly match against Narbonne in Carcassonne last weekend,  Montauban played a triangular tournament as part of its continuing preparations for the resumption of Top 14 play on 24th March 2007. The fixture had to be changed at the last moment from Samatan to Lombez because of the hard surface. Montauban won the tournament for the first time, but on points differential.

Montauban played half a game, first against Castres and then another half against Auch. In their determination to be ready for the next T14 match against Agen, Montauban played well, especially their backrow. Fortunately, they also avoided any injuries, winning the match 21 - 7. Ryan Smith played in the centre.

Having defeated Castres, Montauban was asked to begin play immediately, which led to more difficulties. However, the play did start, but somewhat later and the Montauban team had the opportunity to erase the last memories of their defeat against Albi. However, Montauban lost the match 12 - 7 against Auch. Then Castres defeated Auch by 35 to 14.

Tickets for the home match against Agen on 24th March have all but sold out.
