RYAN SMITH SELECTED FOR MONTAUBAN VS STADE FRANCAIS  AFTER GOOD PERFORMANCE VS BUCAREST           21st December 2007

After a good performance in the centres for Montauban Tarn-et-Garonne last Saturday, a 34 - 6 victory against Bucarest in the European Challenge Cup, Ryan Smith is in the list of players for selection against Stade Francais at the Sapiac stadium on Saturday 22nd December 2007. The selection for this Top 14 game will be made from the following 24 players:

Blanco, Balan, Henn, Sa, Arganèse, Traversa, Murray, Ghezal, Rolland, Diarra, Delpy, Caballero, Clarkin, Raynaud, Mitu, Garcia, Fortassin, Fauqué, Audrin, Cassin, Cech, Jahouer, Jonnet et Ryan Smith.

The Stade Francais squad is from: Blin, Szarzewski, Attoub, Roncero, Ledesma, Montanella, Du Plooy, Marchois, Papé, Burban, Taylor, Hireche, Charlon, Bouhraoua, Albouy, Skréla, Hernandez, Bastareaud, Messina, Bergamasco, Arias, Saubade, Corleto et Camara

In the European Challenge match last week, Montauban scored sweet revenge in a 34 - 6 win after a previous loss against a chippy Bucarest team. In cold temperatures around the freezing mark, and in a thick fog, Marc Raynaud led the team against the Romanians who at one point in the first half were down to 13 men having received two yellow cards ( Lazar and Burcea ).

Hard work in the first period, which they led 12 - 6 at the half, paid off in the second. Montauban scored six tries to score a victory and a bonus point which keeps them in the qualifications race for the European Challenge Cup. However, from the final whistle, the players were immediately focused on the visit of Stade Francais in the Top 14 competition next Saturday.
