RYAN SMITH IN SQUAD FOR
TEAM TO PLAY STADE TOULOUSAIN 8th February 2008
Twenty-three years
drought From Montauban-Tarn-et
Garonne website
The last time Montauban
defeated the players of Stade Toulousain in an official match,
was on Sunday 3rd February 1985. Twenty three years ago. In
1985, telephone numbers didn't need an area code and no one had
foreseen cell phones. On this day, the team was coached by Louis
Blanc and won the match 16 - 12. It was a victory gained, in my
estimation, by an heroic spirit of sacrifice throughout the
game, and especially in the last few minutes of play.
Today, Ryan Smith is on the
squad that will play against Stade Toulousain in front of a
packed stadium. Since that date in February 1985, Montauban has
always played well against them, but without winning a game.
This drought has gone on too long!! It is February again and
time to defeat the men in red.
The Montauban squad to play against Stade
Toulousain, will be selected from the following squad.
Lemoine, Henn, Blanco, Peyron, Arganèse, Traversa,
Rolland, Murray, Ghezal, Soldan, Raynaud, Diarra, Caballero, Mitu,
Garcia, Fauqué, Ryan Smith, Audrin,
Jahouer, Avramovic, Viard, Cassin, Fortassin et Jonnet.
Montauban sees the return this week of hooker
Grégory Arganèse (shoulder injury) and of the players rested last
weekend , like Pablo Lemoine, Karim Ghezal, Marc Raynaud, Rida Jahouer
or Fabien Fortassin. Three players remain on the injured list:Matthew
Clarkin, knee injury, Bogdan Balan (mollet) et Seti Kiole (ankle).
