IMPORTANT NEWS FOR THE XL OPENING OF THE SEASON      22nd April 2008

Greetings to all!!  For anyone who is not aware, I have taken over the XL Club Communication and Secretary duties from Scott.

The XL's vs the rest of the World opening day match is scheduled for Sunday April 27 on the 3rd pitch at Brampton. Kick-off as usual 1:00 pm.

As part of our discussed initiative to be more visible and organized as members of the Rugby Community in Ontario, we are insisting that all XL's who plan on playing this year are registered with Rugby Canada. We have a one week grace period because of the 12 month registration period from last year. All those who registered last year are eligible to play this Sunday.

However, the 12 month registration period expires on April 30. Therefore in order to play the remaining fixtures for 2008, you must be registered. We are holding a registration session at the game on Sunday. If you intend to register for 2008, please bring a cheque and a registration form. (see HERE).

There is a late registration penalty of an additional $25 (plus you would have to hand in your registration yourself to the ORU) I am trying to recall the figure that was put out at our fixtures meeting; I believe that XL's registration is in the neighborhood of $170. We will obviously confirm the amount on Sunday.

To get a rough idea of numbers for Sunday, could all those planning to attend and/or play please reply back to the mailbox. Also indicate if you are planning on registering this year. See you on Sunday.
