 XL RUGBY CLUB
XL RUGBY NEWS UPDATES     9th May 2008

Having waited all week for someone else to provide a glowing summary of the Old Boys' event at Markham, I realize now that wer very short of budding journalists and so I will recap and project. Chuck and Scott were missing, and Kevin was on the injured reserve, so the XL's were represented on the pitch by myself, Mark R and Don, as well as various part time and temp players who wear our colours at times. Andrew Selbie is now on board and he needed only one kicked ball to the chest to remember how it's done. He played well someone who has taken several years off and we look forward to better things as the rust disappears.

Under the NOBs colours we were victorious (I think). However, those of you who witnessed my brain fart have learned to take anything I state in terms of the Game with a grain of salt. (I never know or care what the score is). Thanks to Markham for hosting.

So on to this week:

We have an "All Comers" game at Brampton. Basically the XL's provide the venue, and the hospitality is reduced to a cash bar afterwards. The idea is to play Rugby, have a beer and go home to your Mother's day event. I am hoping for last call at 3:30 and close the doors by 4:00pm..

There is an ORU Men's trial taking place on the other pitch at the same time, so be careful which pitch you run onto. Anyway, I will not be playing, as I need to take a week off from that gawdawfull cleatmark from last week. I will be organizing our event and facilitating the whole day.

Let's try to kick-off as close to 1:00 pm as possible. The clubhouse will be open by noon.

See you on Sunday   Joe
