BRAMPTON's JANE KIRBY IN GUELPH ROUT OF QUEENS

Brampton's Jane Kirby was part of the
University of Guelph Gryphons big win last Saturday in
OUA action. The defending OUA champion University of Guelph
Gryphons (2-2) gave the Queen's University Golden Gaels (3-1)
their first loss of the season by a score of 50-0. On Saturday
afternoon in Kingston, the Gryphons put on a dazzling display
of rugby in a dominating performance over the home side.
Jacey Murphy (Alliston, ON) led the
Gryphons as she scored three tries against the Gaels. Michelle
Joslin (Waterloo, ON) scored two tries in the game while
Larrissa Chomyk (Barrie, ON), Jane Kirby (Brampton, ON) and
Jen Cerullo (Toronto, ON) each added one try a piece. Gryphon
Lianne Inglis (Burlington, ON) kicked five conversions in the
match.
At halftime the Guelph lead was 19-0
after scoring two tries just minutes apart. In the second
period, the Gryphons upped the score by another 31 points. A
relentless defence allowed Guelph to dictate play and pressure
the Gaels for 17 more points before the game’s end.
