XL RUGBY NEWS UPDATES 9th

Having waited all week for someone else to provide a glowing
summary of the Old Boys' event at Markham, I realize now that
wer very short of budding journalists and so I will recap and
project. Chuck and Scott were missing, and Kevin was on the
injured reserve, so the XL's were represented on the pitch by
myself, Mark R and Don, as well as various part time and temp
players who wear our colours at times. Andrew Selbie is now on

XL RUGBY CLUB OPENS
SEASON
30th April 2008
It was a
fine day for Rugby this past Sunday, and what a great turn out!
For the opening game of the season, we had around 40 players,
and a number of past players. There were even a couple of new
faces; great to get some fresh blood into the Old Boys. The sight
of our president and past-president on the side lines certainly
was an inspiration to us all, lifting our spirits as we slogged
up the hill towards the end of the game. I can still hear Andy's
words encouraging us on with cheers like 'get your finger
out!!!!. Then, he ensured that the referee's calls would go our
way with advice like 'it's only Rugby that suffers sir!!!'.

IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT DUES FOR XL CLUB
27th April 2008
Following our pre-fixture meeting on Wednesday, we decided that
XL Club dues for the year will be set at $205. This breaks down
to $145 to Rugby Canada and less than $2.25 for each fixture
that we have arranged for the XL's to play.
After several meetings between all the
member Clubs who have agreed to host fixtures this year, there
appears to be a common concern regarding overall numbers. While
we recognize that few if any members will

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR THE XL OPENING OF THE SEASON
22nd April 2008
Greetings to all!! For anyone who is not aware, I have
taken over the XL Club Communication and Secretary duties from
Scott.
For additional news on the 2008 season, you can access the XL
2008 season schedule by clicking on the link to XL 2008 SCHEDULE
in the left hand banner of the Home Page.
The XL's vs the rest of the World opening day match is scheduled
for Sunday April 27 on the 3rd pitch at Brampton. Kick-off as
usual 1:00 pm.

1:00 PM unless otherwise noted. *** Check for Saturday
Games as kickoff may vary.
It was decided that the
HOST team will provide food after the games. For games played at
grounds without a club house, the HOSTS will still provide food
at a Pub close by.
